Former WBO World Heavyweight Championship Tommy Morrison has died at age 44. Morrison, who was nicknamed The Duke, had great success in the ring with a 44-3 record and earned his most notable win against George Forman in 1993. As good as he was in the ring, the headlines that followed him outside of it showed a life in disarray. Morrison had multiple convictions for driving under the influence, assault, and drugs and weapons charges, and later would test positive for HIV.
Morrison parlayed his popularity in the ring with a starring role in Rocky V. He played Tommy "The Machine" Gunn in the 1990 film. Morrison portrayed a talented but undisciplined boxer who Rocky, played by Sylvester Stallone, mentors but later gets into a street fight.
